The social work developed at Ecil goes beyond the company walls.. The patients of the Psychiatric Hospital Vale das Hortências, which cares for mentally ill people or abandoned people under treatment, have been responsible for assembling parts to Ecil for about 10 years.

Besides serving as therapy for the inmates, this work is paid. With the money, patients buy gifts, go on sightseeing tours around the city and in the nearby malls as well as have fun like any citizen who performs a job and gets paid for it.
The Hospital:
The Psychiatric Hospital Vale das Hortências serves an average of 450 patients who live in the institution because they have no familes and other 25 who return to their homes after the end of the treatment.
In addition to medical and outpatient care, the interns have a number of recreational activities developed in the TV room, cinema, workshops for carpentry, handicraft, sports, gardens to cultivate vegetables, etc. Interns also perform activities such as make their own slippers and take care of the garden.
In order to take care of the inmates, the hospital has 235 employees and a team of volunteers who develop sport activities and organize theater and musical presentations, a very beautiful and rewarding job.
